The Denver and District Pipe Band was formed in 2009 as a result of the merger of two of the oldest bagpipe bands in the greater Denver area; the City of Denver Pipe Band and the Colorado Isle of Mull/Saint Andrew’s Pipes and Drums. Each band was suffering from declining membership and it was decided that a merger would create a more viable organization.

We compete in the Western United States Pipe Band Association. Since the merger, the band has had success in competitions in Colorado and throughout the Western United States.

The band is one of the few bands to have both an Irish and Highland dance section as a permanent and full part of the band. We perform at many locations at a wide variety of events throughout Colorado, and we feature our dancers as a large part of many of these performances.
